The Paparazzi project began in 2003 with the goal of creating a free and open-source UAV guidance system which could be easily adapted to a wide variety of aircraft for a wide variety of applications. The system has since proved to be extremely successful and Paparazzi-based aircraft have won all top positions in every [[Gallery|flight contest]] in which they competed.

We know it can be daunting to discover Paparazzi and wonder what to do first. So we take care of the basics for you before shipping. Each [http://ppzuav.com/osc/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=4_2&products_id=35 Fully Assembled Tiny2.11] ready to program another feature the competition is just now starting to offer. How we do this:

We load the bootloader

configure the GPS module (LEA-5H Tiny2.11 we also update the GPS Firmware to the latest from u-blox)

We load a sample tiny2.11 program into it.

We verify it runs the program (LED1/RED flashes)

Then acquires a 3D fix (LED2/GREEN flashes).

For TWOG orders we load the USB Boot Loader for you before shipping. This means you can use the USB programming cable as soon as you receive your TWOG to program it.

This means when you order a TWOG or Tiny Autopilot you receive a tested, working, ready to configure for your aircraft Paparazzi Autopilot Assembly. Quite often new users will wonder if the Autopilot working so knowing it was configured and tested will help you focus on the real issue(s) and get flying faster.

'''''ABOUT US:'''''

We are Paparazzi Project users ourselves. We are also business people and know how to take care of our customers. What is listed on the Web Store http://www.ppzuav.com/osc/catalog is usually in stock or will be in stock in a few days (i.e. "backorder" means 3 days lead-time).

'''''USPS SHIPPING:'''''

As an open-source project, all source code and hardware plans are [https://github.com/paparazzi/paparazzi-hardware freely available on GitHub] or directly from the [[Autopilots|hardware Wiki pages]] for anyone to produce, use, modify, and redistribute in accordance with the [http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt GPL License Agreement] or [https://creativecommons.org/licenses/ Creative Commons License] <ref>Check the files for applicable licensing</ref> which requires only that the open-source nature of the project be maintained by all who redistribute it.

'''''USPS Shipping''''' has been temporarily disabled. Reasons:

We had one FOB (Military) address customers order completely lost. They filed a claim and we refunded their order amount (costly to us)

We have had numerous customers USPS shipments take over 30 days to be delivered. Since there is no tracking number provided by USPS the customer starts to wonder about us not USPS.

If your order is lost (some orders are very expensive) USPS will only give us 45.00 compensation regardless of insured amount for shipments outside the USA. So considering how much could be lost what is the value of bad feelings on both sides if it is lost?

We had numerous complaints that no matter what option was selected the USPS module chose the most expensive shipping method (almost the same cost as FedEx). This is not something we can control or fix because it's USPS that does the calculation.

'''''FedEx Shipping'''''
We must be clear. The calculation you see with FedEx is the same one FedEx uses when we ship. That amount is charged to us and we have to pay it. If you see 82.00 for your shipping charge that is what FedEx will charge us to ship it. We have heard people say they order from this or that vendor and FedEx was much less expensive. Consider the vendor. We are not TI or IBM. The calculation you see is the same. We use Fedex.com to ship so you are welcome to login and input the same information and verify the calucuations.

The shipping provider is selected with you in mind not us. If you truly have no consideration for receiving your equipment email us and we can arrange USPS for your order. It will be shipped US Postal Priority International Flat Rate for approx 25.00. Delivery time will average 10 or more days and up to 60 days before they will investigate. Since we consider you first we have to make sure you are aware of this so there is no false expectations. No matter the shipping company we ship orders as quickly as we can. In some cases the same day we receive the order. So delays are out of our control once we deliver it to the shipping company.

'''''Customs''''':
We can not lie about the value of your order. We are obligated to list all items (Packing Slip) and the value regardless of shipping company. All orders will be listed in the customs declaration at the amount paid. A packing slip will be included. This will help your order to clear customs faster (100% of the delay is there) and since this is expected when you buy from any vendor it should be expected from PPZUAV as well.

''Please check the [http://www.ppzuav.com/ PPZUAV website] often as we expand our product offering''.
