This scope shot shows that each PPM frame consists of 6 pulses. The first five pulses carry the channel info, while the sixth is just a sync. The "data" for each channel is the duration that the signal is low. Here the first period low-- looking right after the first pulse-- is about 500 us (scope set to 1ms per div). During this scope shot the transmitter aileron control is full left.
